On Tap at the Library: June 5, 4-6pm

Join us! The library is hosting a free beer tasting event in conjunction with the exhibit currently on display until June 16. Entitled From DNA to Beer: Harnessing Nature in Medicine and Industry the traveling exhibit from the National Library of Medicine explores how life forms such as bacteria, yeasts, and molds can cause sickness or restore health, and help produce foods and beverages for our consumption.

The beer tasting will take place in the library on June 5th, from 4-6pm and will be offered by a representative from Bronx Brewery who will talk about the beer-making process at 4:30. In addition, there will be snacks, prizes, and raffle drawings for gift certificates to Bronx Brewery! Come by the library to check out the exhibit and answer some questions to enter the raffle.

Information about the exhibit can be found here: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/exhibition/fromdnatobeer/index.html. For more information about the event, email askref@einstein.yu.edu.

Who knew? You can find alternate forms of tests in PsycTESTs

Some frequently used tests appear in multiple versions within the scholarly literature and the PsycTESTS® database. You may see versions that have been revised or updated, shortened or abridged, modified for different age groups or populations, translated into new languages, and more. In PsycTESTS records, the Other Versions field links to and describes alternate forms of the test that are included in PsycTESTS. If you’ve found a test you’d like to use or cite, it’s a good idea to quickly check the Other Versions field to make sure you’re using the best version for your research.

To access PsycTESTS, click on the PsycINFO link on the Library’s homepage.
